We offer the switch-on delay in two versions. Version 1 is without VU meter protection. This version is completely pluggable. This is very easy and also inexpensive!
Version 2
The second version still includes a VU meter protection. Here, the strands must be plugged in addition 4 strands are soldered. This can be done very easily!
Electronic
Both versions have the same delay electronics, only the relays and the extra leads make the difference.
Time
The delay time is about 5 to 7 seconds. This should be sufficient in most cases to effectively suppress the switch-on!
Installation ESV 77 without VU meter protection
Take A77 out of the housing
Loosen the 4 rear housing screws and tighten the dummy plug for the wired remote control.
Pull the device forwards out of the housing .
This is a bit difficult, please be patient!
Output A77
Place the device on a styrofoam pad at the side so that the power plug is down. Disconnect three blade receptacles (AG9 br, AG8 vio and AG7 gn) from the switchboard of the Revox A77 and insulate with the supplied shrink tubing.
Connect output
Now connect the blade receptacles with the ESV 77, as shown in the photo, and connect the strands from the ESV 77 to the released flat plugs of the Revox A77 (AG9 br, AG8 vio and AG7 gn).
tension
Disconnect the yellow wire (ground, DF2) and the purple wire ( 27V, DF1) from the drive control.
To improve the visibility the supression capacitor was removed for this photo.
insulation
Although the other tabs do not necessarily have to be isolated; The tabs of the power supply must be isolated!
Connect voltage
The strands are free and therefore require good and safe insulation!
Connect ESV
The flat plug-in sleeves ge and vio, coming from the ESV 77, are now plugged into DF1 (vio) and DF2 (ge).
cable ties
The supply line of the power supply is fixed with two cable ties.
Platinum
The PCB is attached to the chassis of the Revox A77 only with a cable tie. The circuit board of the switch-on delay weighs nothing and the attachment is completely sufficient! It is sufficient if you only tighten the cable tie loosely.
Installation ESV 77 with VU meter protection
ESV 77
The installation of the ESV 77 is the same as for the ESV 77 without VU meter protection.
Only two additional white and two blue strands are needed here.
cable management
The strands are placed over the audio boards and to the respective Rec-Amp. Printed circuit boards of the Revox A77.
Rec.-Amp. .705
After removing the shield plate, the rec. Amp boards can be easily removed and modified. The modification is limited to the soldering of two strands. This is not rocket science. Fix the strands with cable ties.
Detail
On the left is ground, on the right the VU-meter signal is still in front of the capacitor C509 with 10 μF.
There is no need to do more.
Now plug the circuit boards into the Revox A77, mount the shield plate and push the device back into the housing!
